lost wax cast gas tank carving

just need to add the cup and vent to these waxes and they will be ready to start the investment dipping process.  one tank down 3 to go. i have the carving technique figured out a little better than last year. now all i can do is pray they survive and cast well.

cast gas tank gating

well it took me all day but one gas tank is allmost gated. the wax rods are where the channels in the mold will be that the molten metal flows through. so thats allmost two sides done. and at least 4 more to go.

shipping a stem.

i sold the used stem i had on this blog and packaged it up today. i built the box out of doorskin and lattice stock with brads and elmers glue. pop riveted the leather hinges and latch. the holy anchor is branded on there from the brand i made for the bronze casted skull. wood offsets from an old pallet hold the stem off the box and some wire ties keep the stem in place. hope you like it Joe!
